Augmented Reality Group Project - Puca

Puca was a group project at AUT University involving Augmented Reality. Our task was to simply create something for AR. The four of us decided to create an additional method of entertainment for Metro at City Center, as Metro is already an entertainment hub containing a food court, cinema, and much more. The theme of Puca was Halloween with a haunted house sort of feel, with the idea in mind that the 3D objects placed within Metro could be changed depending on Seasons.

The group contained two animators, illustrator, and project manager that looked over the AR application of the 3D objects. I was the project manager.

Puca utilised a service called Metaio and Junaio (which no longer exists), and the objects were placed into Metro using environmental tracking and image tracking. There were 3D objects of lanterns and Jack O'lanterns placed around Metro, as well as an animated zombie character in the form of a 2D video that played when the user looked at the tracked environment.
