2 versions of the same game, one with the Golden Ratio and the other without for people to playtest.

Replacing models within my pre-made game with the Golden Ratio models.

For my third-year research project at AUT University, I decided to see the effect of the use of the Golden Ratio in a 3D game. For this, I created a game level without the golden ratio and one with the golden ratio.
These images show how I went about calculating the Golden Ratio in the 3D models of my game.
Once all models are completed and converted to the golden ratio, I will have playtesters play the game and survey which version of the game they preferred. This will tell me whether having the golden ratio in a game affects people's preferences for a game or not.
All the models were created in Autodesk Maya, and later placed into Unity.

My research showed that participants viewed the game version with Golden Ratio as more aesthetically pleasing.
